#PublicInResearch

Inspired by the #WhyWeDoResearch campaign the North West People in Research Forum is launching the #PublicInResearch hashtag.

Why?

To create a twitter space where people who are actively involved in research and researchers who actively involve people in research can share:

  • Why they became involved in research
  • Why they involve people in research
  • How people are being involved in research
  • The benefits of involving people in research (So what?)

At the moment many people use #PPI as a hashtag so you have to trawl through lots of tweets about payment protection insurance to find tweets relating to public involvement in research!   This hashtag can change that.

How can I take part?

There are different ways you can use the hashtag.  For example:

If you are a member of the public:

Tweet a photo of yourself and the reasons why you became involved in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch

AND/OR

Tweet a photo of yourself and how you’ve been involved in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch

AND/OR

Tweet a photo of yourself and how you have benefited from being involved in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch.

If you are a researcher:

Tweet a photo of yourself and the reasons why you involve people in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch

AND/OR

Tweet a photo showing how you’ve involved people in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch

AND/OR

Tweet a photo showing how you or research have benefited from public involvement in research with the hashtag #PublicInResearch.

You can also share links to examples of your work with the hashtag #PublicInResearch

Please take part!

This is your twitter space to share your experiences and ideas!
